Join the Pilot Cohort
OSC is recruiting a small group of high school students who are genuinely curious to investigate a question and willing to document their process. The first cohort will help shape OSC itself.
You do not need:
Prior research experience
Perfect grades
A polished project proposal
Interest in conventional high school science subjects like bio, chem, or physics
You do need:
Curiosity
Intellectual honesty
Openness to experimenting with new ways of learning
Willingness to revise your thinking in light of evidence
Pilot Cohort
Participants will pursue independent investigations while sharing their work in the cohort community.
The pilot cohort will be:
Fully online
Free to participate
Experimental in structure
Application
Applications for the pilot cohort are now open. The application consists of a few short questions about your interests, experiences, and motivations for applying.
Timeline
Because OSC is a small pilot program, applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Selected applicants will be contacted directly with information on participation, scheduling, and next steps. We anticipate launching activities in Fall 2026, with the pilot cohort continuing for several months. Some details may evolve as the program develops.
